Transforming Lives with Accessible, Affordable, and Effective Therapies for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Conditions
Joyful Journeys was born out of a need for accessible, evidence-based support for families with neurodivergent children in Kenya.
As a certified behavior analyst under QABA and IBAO, and a mother to a neurodivergent child, our founder Diana Ayoo has experienced firsthand the challenges Kenyan families face in accessing quality, affordable care for their children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
In Kenya, the scarcity of behavior analysts and limited awareness of ABA therapy have created significant barriers for families seeking effective interventions. The lack of formal ABA study programs in the country has further exacerbated this shortage, leaving many families without access to crucial services.
Additionally, the limited understanding of ABA therapy among health practitioners and insurance companies has made it difficult for families to receive proper recommendations and financial support for these interventions.

Our mission
Bridging the gap with empowering training based on proven ABA principles
We aim to:
- Increase accessibility to ABA therapy by providing affordable, high-quality training programs for parents, caregivers, and educators.
- Raise awareness about the effectiveness of ABA therapy in addressing core deficits associated with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Empower families with practical, evidence-based strategies they can implement at home, fostering independence and improving quality of life for their children.
- Collaborate with other therapy providers, such as occupational therapists and speech therapists, to offer a comprehensive approach to care.
- Advocate for greater recognition and support of ABA therapy within the Kenyan healthcare system and insurance industry.
- Build a supportive community for families of neurodivergent children, combating stigma and promoting acceptance.
By focusing on parent and caregiver training, we aim to create a sustainable model of care that extends beyond the limitations of one-on-one therapy sessions. Our goal is to equip families with the tools and knowledge they need to support their children’s development effectively, even in the face of resource constraints.
Through Joyful Journeys, we’re not just providing therapy. We’re fostering hope, empowerment, and positive change for neurodivergent children and their families across Kenya.

We are committed to bridging the knowledge gap in neurodivergent care by offering accessible, culturally relevant education that empowers individuals to effectively support children with autism and other developmental challenges. Through our training programs, we aim to create a network of informed and skilled caregivers who can implement ABA strategies in various settings, ensuring consistent and effective support for neurodivergent children.
We are dedicated to raising awareness about neurodiversity and the benefits of ABA therapy throughout Kenya. Our advocacy efforts focus on educating healthcare providers, policymakers, and the general public about the effectiveness of ABA and the importance of early intervention. We strive to challenge stigma, promote acceptance, and push for policies that support access to ABA services. By advocating for neurodivergent individuals, we aim to create a more inclusive society where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Our mission is to foster a community of empowered caregivers, professionals, and advocates who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of neurodivergent children. We aim to inspire hope and confidence by sharing success stories, facilitating peer support networks, and showcasing the transformative power of ABA therapy. Through our work, we seek to motivate others to embrace neurodiversity and become champions for positive change in their families and communities.
We are committed to providing accessible, culturally relevant ABA-based strategies and resources that enable neurodivergent children to reach their full potential and improve their quality of life. Our support extends beyond therapy sessions to include ongoing guidance, resources, and tools that families can use in their daily lives. We aim to create a supportive ecosystem that addresses the holistic needs of neurodivergent children and their families, ensuring they have the resources and backing they need to thrive.
Our mission includes continuously developing and adapting ABA solutions to meet the unique needs of Kenyan families. We are committed to innovation in our approach, integrating local cultural contexts and resources into evidence-based ABA practices. By combining international best practices with local insights, we aim to create ABA interventions that are not only effective but also culturally appropriate and sustainable within the Kenyan context.
We are dedicated to fostering partnerships with healthcare providers, educators, community organizations, and other stakeholders to create a comprehensive support system for neurodivergent individuals in Kenya. Our collaborative approach aims to ensure that ABA therapy is integrated into a holistic care model, working in harmony with other therapies and interventions. By building strong partnerships, we seek to create a united front in supporting neurodivergent children and their families, maximizing the impact of our collective efforts.
